I was kinda craving a tasty burger for lunch the other day so I decided to stop by Five Guys. I don’t know if you have eaten there before, but they do indeed make a tasty burger. Everything there is à la carte. They don’t have meal combos are anything like that, you just tell them what you want. Their Cajun fries are the stuff of legend. I always order a small because they always wind up filling up the bag with fries anyway, more than the small container could ever hope to hold. I have often wondered how many the brave soul that orders a large winds up with.
Well, like I was saying before I got sidetracked about tasty menu options, I decided on Five Guys for lunch. I was a pretty gloomy day that day, misty rain and kinda cold. I decided I would order online to take advantage of a ten-percent cash back offer my bank was offering for purchases from Five Guys. I ordered all my items and proceeded to check out, but was then informed that it was unable to be processed at the time. I read the fine print an it said the cash back offer would also be valid in-store so I figured what the heck. Gloomy day be damned, I already had my heart set on a tasty burger!
I hopped in my car and drove down the road to the nearby Five Guys. When I approached, I noticed all the lights appeared to be off. This was not a good sign. I slowly drove past the front door and noticed there was a note on it. Uh-oh. Maybe it just meant they had to step away briefly or something? Wanting to satisfy my curiosity, I parked my car, got out and walked up to the building.
I got up to the door and yes, all the lights were definitely off. I took a look at the note on the door which said: “Due to technical issues we’ll be opening late. Sorry for the inconvenience.” Huh? It was after two o’clock in the afternoon and they open up at ten in the morning. Just how long is “opening late” going to be? At that point they should just call it a day.
After pondering the situation, I decided to write off having a tasty burger that day. Since I was already there, I decided to walk two doors down to the Thai place and have lunch there. Guess it turned out for the best. Nothing like a piping hot bowl of delicious Tom Yum Soup on a cold and gloomy day!
