I stopped in at Taco Bell the other day and decided to sample their Buffalo Chicken Nacho Fries. All in all they were pretty decent.
The buffalo sauce flavor is definitely the first thing to hit the taste buds, followed up by the seasoning of the fries themselves. The flavor of the cheese sauce finally comes in slowly in the background. I’m not a huge fan of cheese sauce in general, thus I found this to be agreeable.
The chicken itself in the dish appeared to be cubed. I personally would have preferred a bit bigger pieces myself, something easily speared with a fork. Being Taco Bell however leaves you with the same chicken used in other dishes repurposed for this one. It’s not bad, just could have been better.
In the end, it added a nice variety to the regular “cookie cutter” Taco Bell menu. To paraphrase an article from The Onion, Taco Bell can only combine their five ingredients in a “Totally New Way” so many times before it gets old. It’s nice to see something original for a change.
